Yogi Bear, Summer Specs and Kids Fishing

003The last vacation we took was to Yogi Bear Park. We went with Tressa’s mom and 015brother. We were all packed in a small cabin just hanging out and playing card games. The kids went swimming and we sat in the pool as well. The big thing for me was taking the kids fishing. We caught a ton of perch. It was great seeing Brad help Ian with his line. It was alsogreat seeing Ian catch fish. Since I grew up with my Uncle helping me learn how to fish, I am glad I can teach Brad and he and I can help Ian. We actually kept some and soon I will fry them up and let the kids eat the together.012

We fished alot this summer. I went with Jess and Stephen and 016Applebe alot. I even fished in a tournament with Beau and Goldstraw. It was cool being able to win the tournament and actually know what I was doing. We fished againest all the guys from Beau’s work. Eddie Tamez had won the last couple of years. Beau got me, Jess and Goldie together and we got bigger fish. It was a great time.

I also took the kids a few times and created so many memories. I can’t explain the feeling of watching Brad catch a huge redfish at his age. I get very emotional seeing him and Mady get to do things I never got to do until later years. Or get to have me there to share it with them. It was so much fun and exciting to030 see them catch fish this 031summer. Me and Tressa even set up a fishing trip with my buddy Eddie Tamez. We went as a family and had a great trip. We didn’t catch as many fish but Tressa actually had fun and she said she would go again. It was fun being able to go as a family which is something I never got to do as a kid. I had a great summer getting to watch Mady and Brad fish. I got teary eyed watching them. They are such good kids and I love that they have so much more experiences that I get to share with them 019that I never did044. Hopefully they can look back and 025appreciate it.

Ya’ll be safe out there!!
